Happy New Month, dearly beloved!
Welcome to the eighth month of the year. Biblically, the number eight signifies new beginnings, resurrection, and regeneration. May God grant you a fresh start in every area of your life. May the power of the Resurrection continue to play a dominant role in your journey and bring about the regeneration of God’s goodness, blessings, and glory in your life and family, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
This August also marks our annual convention, with the theme: “The Overcomers.”
Congratulations for being one of us. We are Overcomers in Christ Jesus! We have been made victorious through the blood of the Lamb. As the Bible says:
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
~ Revelation 12:11 (KJV)
This scripture refers to a special group—the Overcomers. Life itself is a battlefield. You are either a victor or a victim. Who you are connected to, and the potency of the weapons at your disposal, make all the difference. This verse reveals three key attributes of Overcomers:
1. Access to the Blood of the Lamb
Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God who shed His blood as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins and our salvation. Believing in Him and accepting Him as your Lord and Saviour gives you access to His redeeming blood—and makes you an Overcomer.
A question for you this new month:
Do you have access to the blood of the Lamb? Are you connected to Jesus Christ? Are you born again?
2. Access to the Word
The Word of God is a powerful spiritual weapon. The Bible says:
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
~ Hebrews 4:12 (KJV)
Overcomers are Word-filled and Word-led. The Word gives them strength, clarity, and victory.
3. Sacrificial Love
“They loved not their lives unto the death.” This speaks of sacrificial love—loving God more than life itself.
Beloved, are you a lover of God? Can you truly say you love Him? Jesus once asked Peter:
“So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.”
~ John 21:15 (KJV)
Can you hear God asking you the same question today? Do you love Him more than what you receive from Him?
If you possess these qualities, congratulations! You are an Overcomer. If not, you can change that today. Accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour. Step into the life of victory that He has prepared for you.
Be an Overcomer!
Stay blessed.
