I can, and it can be.

The year will end shortly. Yes. That is exactly what I wrote and that’s what you just saw and read. S-H-O-R-T-L-Y!! Shortly because you equally never expected that so soon we will be spending the last few days in the year 2023. It started just like yesterday, and now it is winding down.

At the beginning of 2023, your goals might be related to giving more attention to your health, your career, relationship, your personal development, among other areas of your life. This is the time to look back and reflect on the resolutions you set at the beginning of the year. I should have said you should “pause” and do a reassessment, but then, the middle of the year would have been the best time to pause and readjust. Luke 17:3(a) says, “Pay attention to yourself”.

Can I ask you a question: Were you forced to take those resolutions? I’m at least 90% sure nobody forced you to. Another person may say, “I never made any resolution so I’m not bothered about this ‘epistle’. Hey! Take a seat and let’s talk. Stop thinking with your kidneys! At the outset of this year, you had plans, you had aspirations and you had dreams. You took decisions on what you want to achieve in the year; the only thing unknown to me was whether those decisions were well informed decisions. If you had any of the above in your head at the beginning of the year, then you made a resolution. HOW WELL DID YOU PAY ATTENTION TO YOURSELF?

Robert Orben once said, “Time flies and it’s up to you to be the navigator.” How successful were you in the way you handled the outgoing year 2023? Who did you consult before trying to navigate the year? “Do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.”(Prov. 3:5-6)

If you never consulted your maker at the beginning and now it seems things did not work out and you’re looking at the limited time remaining for the year to end, I know of a truth that time and season are in His hands. He can still make those dreams and desires come to fruition.  God is never late in coming. When God is the One bringing you, no man has a right to say you have arrived late.

Few days remaining to end the year like I mentioned earlier in this write up. Let’s face some realities here. Why you were unable to succeed with your resolutions might just be the way you handled things. Who is your friend…or is it “Who’s your guy” (what a song that was)? Who are you walking with? Who is your influencer? (Hey! I’m not referring to those self-styled and self-proclaimed social media influencers). You know the real ones. When you seek the Almighty God, He will surely direct you to who you should be with. Proverbs 16:9 Amplified Bible (AMP), “A man’s mind plans his way [as he journeys through life], But the LORD directs his steps and establishes them”. It is still possible! That dream can still come to pass! You can still land that dream job and position! Just walk with the right person and be at the right place at the right time. It is still possible.

Let me not bug you too much with my “epistle”. As we inch towards the end of 2023, I want you to ponder over these words from Reno Omokri. I guess it will help a bit.

“If you walk with a slow walker, you will be forced to adjust your pace to theirs. If you are walking with a fast walker, you must quicken your pace, or they will leave you behind. That is how friends influence you. Their success pace impacts yours. They are either helping you progress or retrogress. None of your associates has a neutral effect on you, and you also influence them. That is why you must choose your friends and environment carefully; otherwise, they may sabotage your success.

I wish you the very best of the forthcoming Christmas and a divinely directed New Year 2024…sure I’m the first person to wish you a Happy new year in advance (smile!)
